General Information

PortAventura is one of the most popular theme parks in Europe, being the largest theme park in Spain and the second largest in Europe. Since it is located only one hour drive away from Barcelona many visitor chose to include this attraction in their itinerary. The park is located just outside the city of Salou and it is packed full with thrilling rides.

The PortAventura World has a total of 3 different theme parks: the PortAventura Park, the PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park and Ferrari Land. Each one of the parks has different areas, rides and shows for the whole family to enjoy.

What do you see at PortAventura Park?

The PortAventura Park itself has six different areas all with different themes. You will find rides enjoyable for the whole family.

The Mediterrania area offers attractions both for children and adults. Here you will find the fastest roller coaster, the Furius Baco, that will launch you at a top speed of 135 km per hour. Polynesia is the second area of PortAventura park and it looks like a small tropical jungle with many water themed rides. The area recreates the feeling of the Polynesian islands with sandy beaches, palm trees and active volcanos.

China is the third area of the adventure park and is home of the Shambhala roller coaster, the tallest one in Europe with a 78 meters drop and the famous Dragon Khan ride that will catapult you at a top speed of 110 km per hour and takes you through eight 360 degree loops. Mexico is the next area which will bring you back to the old times of the Mayan empire. You can shop through the many mexican teamed shops and restaurants enjoy the fabulous shows and ride on the scariest rides of the park, the Hurakan Condor, that will drop you from 100 meters high free fall. It is оnе оf the biggest rides on thе ѕitе аnd can bе ѕееn whеn you flу intо Rеuѕ airport. If the long drор was not scary enough thеrе iѕ аlѕо a twiѕt with this ridе. The twiѕt iѕ that depending on where уоu enter, the ridе will dесidе whеthеr you are, ѕitting in fixed ѕеаtѕ, sitting in tiltеd ѕеаtѕ or if уоu arе really unlucky – ѕtаnding. It is definitely nоt a ridе for the fеint hearted.

There is an area especially designed for young children called Sesamo Aventura where you can find the characters of the famous Sesame Street. Make sure you join the famous parade of the Sesame Street characters gang and take picture with Bert, Ernie and others. Right in the center of the area stands El Arbol Magico, simbol of the Sesamo Aventura area.

The Far West area is decorated in true American western style and it is packed with the best american country style food and rides like the Buffalo Rodeo and the Grand Canyon Rapids.

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

If you want to cool down after the many thrilling and neck cracking rides and the harsh sun of Spain you can enjoy one of the funnest Caribbean themed water parks of Spain.

The main attractions of the Water Park are: El Triangulo de las Bermudas there you can challenge the weaves of the legendary Caribbean area home of many mysterious events. The Bahama Beach makes you feel like your are on the golden sand beaches of the Bahamas. Relax on one of the sun loungers and enjoy a cocktail while listening to the sound of waves.

Tickets to PortAventura

There are many ticket options for PortAventura Park. You can purchase one day ticket, 2 day ticket up until a 7 day pass. You can also buy combined tickets for 2 or all 3 of the theme parks.
