Palau Güell is the first work that Gaudi designed for Güell and it helped the architect to become famous since he got an unlimited budget despite he was an inexperienced artist.
The palace was built between the years 1885 and 1889. Similar to many other historic buildings in Barcelona, it was damaged seriously during the Spanish Civil War during which it served as a rebel basis.
