A: No, there are no safety issues on and around La Rambla. Even though there are a lot of people at almost any given time on La Rambla, this is a very secure place with a constant police presence. However, it is advised to have a look on your pockets and belongings at all times as despite the police presence, there still are, just like in almost any other crowded place, activities of pick-pocketing and petty thefts.
Also, west of La Rambla starts El Raval neighborhood, where security might be a slight issue, considering that this is basically the cheapest neighborhood in the center of Barcelona.
