Aerobus Barcelona - Difference between A1 and A2

Q: What is the difference between the two Aerobuses in Barcelona, A1 and A2?

A: A1 and A2 are two different lines of the same transport service. They are operated by the same company and both of them connect the center of Barcelona with El Prat, the international airport of the city.

The only difference in their route is that they stop at different terminals at the airport (for additional information – Route of Aerobus Barcelona, Stations of Aerobus Barcelona). A1 has a station at Terminal 1, while A2 travels to and from Terminal 2. The other stations in the city are similar for every bus line (At Plaça de Catalunya, those who want to travel by A1 need to stay in a queue in front of the station; for A2, passengers have to wait behind the other queue).

The ticket price is not influenced by the bus line and/or the route. In addition, the return tickets can be used for both lines. Therefore, if you arrive at a different terminal than the one you will depart from, your return ticket already covers this travel (for additional information – Return Tickets for Aerobus Barcelona and Buying the Tickets for Aerobus Barcelona).

Be aware that the timetable and the travel frequency of A1 and A2 is different (for additional information – Operating Hours of Aerobus Barcelona)!

It is strongly recommended that, before buying the ticket and/or get on the Aerobus, you check the number of the line and the terminal where you need to arrive. Naturally, it is possible to travel from one terminal to the other, however this will require an extra 30 minutes journey.

The number of the line is visible on the vehicles. Nevertheless, it is advisable to ask the driver about the bus’ route, in case you are unsure about it.
