General Information
El Raval is the cheapest neighborhood from the center of Barcelona. The hotel rooms in El Raval are 20%-30% cheaper than in the other central quarters. Additionally, this district is close to all of the main attractions in Barcelona’s central area and there are also a lot of cheap shops in the district.
The quarter is mainly inhabited by Asian and African immigrants and there are also many homeless people on the streets, so for those who would want to avoid meeting these kind of people at night it is recommended not to reserve a hotel room here. However, note that there are differences between the parts of the neighborhood, there are more immigrants and homeless people in the center than on the eastern part (for additional information – Safety on El Raval).
Another problem could be that it is difficult to get here by car and the parking lots are quite expensive (for additional information – Parking Near El Raval). Furthermore, those who want peace and quiet would find the eastern part of El Raval annoying because it is quite noisy and overcrowded.
