Hop-on Hop-off Bus Routes

Q: What are the routes of the Hop-on Hop-off buses of Barcelona?

A: There are 3 different routes available: the Blue, the Red and the Green route. The first two, the Red and the Blue are operating all year long and the Green one (because it covers the beach area) is only available from March to November. You do not need to purchase separate ticket for each route you can change routes any time you like with the same ticket.



The Blue Route

This route has a total of 12 stops and it starts from the center of the city at Plaça de Catalunya and will take you to the north of the city. This route covers the most popular attractions in Barcelona, taking you from Plaça de Catalunya to La Sagrada Familia to Park Guëll, Camp Nou and back to Plaça de Catalunya.

The main stops are:

The Red Route

This route covers the southern part of the city and includes 21 stops. This is the longest route and it allows you to see half of the attractions covered by the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour. This route will take you 2 hours to complete depending on how much time you spend at each of the attractions. You start this route in Plaça de Catalunya then move on to the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) area, the Parc de la Ciutadella (Citadel Park) and the Barcelona Zoo, to Port Olimpic, then to the Montjuic area, Poble Espanol, Plaça d’Espanya and back to Passeig de Gràcia, Casa Batlló and Plaça de Catalunya.

The Green Route

This line is available from the end of March to the beginning of November and the ride takes you to the eastern part of the beach area of Barcelona. This route has 6 stops and  is along the coast line so it offers beautiful views and it is significantly shorter than the other two, lasting around 40 minutes. It is a wonderful attraction if you want to enjoy the beach, restaurants and shopping areas. The route starts from the Olympic Port that is a connection stop with the Red route and takes you to Poblenou, to Forum and Parc Diagonal Mar.

The main stops are:

  • Olympic Port host of the Summer Olypmics of 1992 and many sport events.
  • Platja del Bogatell one of Barcelona´s city beaches
  • Poblenou a wonderful shopping area.
  • Parc Diagonal Mar a beautiful modernist park of Barcelona.
  • FORUM home of many festivals and events.
