Passeig de Gracia is one of the most important avenues of Barcelona. This is the main street of the Eixample.

When considering booking hotels in this area, one should be aware that the southern part of the boulevard differs from the northern one. The north side, which is not so close to Plaça de Catalunya and to the centre of Barcelona, is not so much a tourist area but rather one of the high level and expensive districts of Barcelona. At the avenue’s intersection with Avinguda Diagonal, one can find a shopping area that is less high level than those situated in the south side. Those who want to be close to the centre and main tourist attractions of Barcelona are advised to look for accommodation in the southern part of Passeig de Gracia. As opposed to that, families or tourists who would like to save money but also to stay in a good apartment in a good neighborhood and are not interested in nightlife, are advised to look for accommodation in the northern part. • Tourists who would like to book a room or an apartment in the southern part of Passeig de Gracia during the summer, are advised to do so in advance.
• For those who have a car it is not recommended to reserve a hotel near Passeig de Gracia because parking lots are expensive in this neighborhood.
