Q: What is the Recommended Option to Get to the Montjuïc Castle?

A: You have a couple of options to get to the Montjuïc Castle – by the cable car, with the bus system or the tourist bus.

We recommend two ways of getting to the top of the hill, which we believe will leave you with the best experience. First option is the cable car that departs from the bottom of the Montjuic hill in the Port Vell and it will take you all the way up to the Montjuïc Castle. In the meantime you will enjoy the best view over the city of Barcelona.

The second option is the “Hop-on hop-off” tourist bus, if you want to enjoy your ride alongside the other tourists. The third option would be the public bus which will leave you in the area of the Castle but you will need to walk a little to get there and therefore – we do not recommend it (for additional information – Public Transportation in Barcelona).
