Accessibility in Eixample

General Information

The streets of the Eixample are large and wide, thus the district is very accessible for people with disabilities. Furthermore, most of the touristic landmark buildings are wheelchair accessible.

However, during the summer the area can get overcrowded, so we recommend to visit Eixample in the morning, when there are fewer people on the streets.

Regarding the public transportation, note that metro stations Urquinaona (L1, L4) and Verdaguer (L4, L5), are not wheelchair friendly. Therefore, for people with disabilities the use of buses is most recommended in this area (for additional information – Public Transportation in Barcelona and Accessibility in Barcelona).

Accessible Hotels in Eixample

Eixample has a variety of accessible hotels, however, some of them might be a little bit further away from the central area of Barcelona. This is why we recommend to choose a hotel in the vicinity of a metro, or even better, a bus station that will provide with an easy access to the city center (for additional information – Accessible Hotels in Barcelona).
