Accessibility in Gothic Quarter

General Information

Most of the landmarks in the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) are wheelchair-accessible. However, it is best recommended to visit the attractions in the morning before it becomes overcrowded.

Public Transportation

Transportation to the quarter area may imply some challenges. The metro stations, Urquinaona (L1, L4) and Jaume I (L4), are not wheelchair-friendly. On the contrary, bus stations (and the buses) are usually wheelchair friendly. However, note that the bus routes do not go inside the quarter, as well as the taxis (for additional information – Public Transportation in Barcelona).

Accessible Hotels in the Gothic Quarter

For people with disabilities it is recommended to check in advance whether the hotel is easily accessible to public transportation, and if they have a wheelchair access. The best choice would be a big four or five star hotel, since most of them have wheelchair ramps.

Hotels located in the center of the quarter are not recommended for people with disabilities, due to the fact that this part of the quarter is not accessible to private cars, taxis or public transportation (for further information see: Hotels near Gothic Quarter and Accessible Hotels in Barcelona).
