Accessibility in La Rambla

General Information

La Rambla avenue has very wide spaces and the promenade itself is very wheelchair-friendly. It is very accessible and easy to get around by wheelchairs if we compare it with other major tourist streets in Europe such as Avenue des Champs-Élysées or Oxford Street. Most of the people that live or work around La Rambla know how to be helpful towards people with disabilities if needed and almost all the restaurants in the area are wheelchair-accessible.



It is not generally recommended to get to La Rambla by car due to poor vehicle access to this area. However, since there are many people with disabilities that are dependent to travel around by car, there are two parking lots around La Rambla that are worth mentioning: the first one, the main one, is located on the North side close to the Plaça de Catalunya; the other one is placed close to the middle section of La Rambla, near Gran Teatre del Liceu on the Carrer Nou De La Rambla street (for additional information – Car Rental in Barcelona and Car Rental in Spain).
